Notable Prospect Spring Training Performances 3/16/24
Day 24 of Spring Training was a MASSIVE day of action where I sifted through 25 box scores to get you the updates you need on your beloved notable prospects. We had 161 in action today with the “prospect games” on the schedule, so let’s jump into it:
Xavier Isaac, Spencer Jones, and Jace Jung all with multi homer games in their respective "prospect” games. Both Isaac and Jones drove in 4 as well.
Eddys Leonard continues his hot spring and is making a serious push to make the opening day roster and pickup a few starts each week, as he hits a HR and triple today and came up a double short of the cycle, along with 4 RBI’s.
Underrated Yankees pitching prospect Brock Selvidge had a masterful day on the mound, racking up 8 K’s in 4 IP in his “prospect” game, only allowing 1 hit and 1 walk.
Tyler Locklear, Kyle Manzardo, Ceddanne Rafaela, Blaze Alexander, Thayron Liranzo, Justyn-Henry Malloy, Wilyer Abreu, and Jhonkensy Noel all hit round trippers.
Kendall George looked excellent with a triple and double in his “prospect” game.
Coby Mayo goes a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate and may be earning himself a starting role. Orioles have a lot of tough calls.
Emerson Hancock takes home our “worst of the day” for the 2nd time this spring, as he’s still struggling to work things out.
That’ll be all for today’s action. What did you like the most out of everything you saw today?
Have a great rest of your night and see you again tomorrow as we have 19 more games in action and a lot of prospects to cover.
